Step 1:Student completes GCC's application to the college and is issued a GCC Student ID # and email account. Student activates student email account.www.2012qq.com/activateEmail
Students should check their GCC email frequently, as many offices and departments use email to communicate with students.

Step 3:Student contacts the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) to make an appointment as a "new student." Students can either:
- Call: 818.240.1000 ext. 5905 (monitored remotely)
- Email:CSD@glendale.edu
- CSD will send an email to the student that includes an electronic copy of our DSPS Application. Please complete the application and return to CSD via email as an attachment. We will also ask the student to attach a copy of their verification of disability (examples, IEP, 504 plan, letter from doctor/psychologist) to that same email. Please return your DSPS application and your verification of a disability BEFORE your appointment. This will make the process much smoother.
- We recommend that you contact CSDat leasttwo weeks in advance of the beginning of a term to schedule an appointment. Students need to complete a Student Educational Contract (SEC) and request accommodations in a timely manner. Students can call or email to schedule an appointment.
- DSPS Counselors will refer new students to the Accommodation Resource Center (ARC) to meet with an ARC Specialist regarding eligible accommodations for term.
- Please note that it is astudent’s responsibilityto set up accommodations and services in a timely manner. We encourage students to meet with us at least once a term.
- The ARC provides the following services and accommodations: testing accommodations, assistive technology training, adaptive computer classes (CABOT), technology access evaluations, audio books, braille, study skills, iPads and smart pen loans, English and math tutoring (ST DV 143).
- If you are a continuing student with a current Student Educational Contract SEC (not older than one calendar year), then you can contact ARC directly.
- DSPS students who have completed a SEC will need to schedule an appointment with either an ARC Specialist or Learning Specialist. We strongly recommend that you do this as early in the semester/term as possible.Appointments with an ARC Specialists can be arranged by contacting the Accommodation Resource Center:

- New and continuing students will be referred by their DSPS Counselor to Kimberleh Wesissman, Lead Interpreter/Coordinator of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Interpreting and captioning services can be provided for classes, meetings with professors, tutors, classmates, and campus events.

- STUDENT DEVELOPMENT 143:This lab course offers students tutoring and student success strategies. Online tutoring for English and math.
- COMPUTER APPLICATIONS & BUSINESS OFFICE TECHNOLOGIES (CABOT):Classes include instruction on Canvas, Canvas Ally (accessibility features for Canvas), and Zoom.

- Yes, APE will be offered remotely. Students can contact Dr. Lee Parkslparks@glendale.eduor Coach Laura Matsumotolauram@glendale.edu.
- If a student wishes to repeat an APE course, the student needs to check in with their DSPS Counselor and complete a Petition for Educational Assistance Class Repetition form. Classes are transferable to CSU, UC, and USC. At GCC, every BODY can be active!
- Remotecourses take the quality, in-person education students are used to receiving and brings it into their homes on pre-scheduled days and times. In the course schedule, there will be meeting days and times listed when the course will be taught synchronously (Ex: If class is scheduled for M-W at 9:30am, students will attend a Zoom/Canvas meeting during the scheduled time) on a platform such as Zoom.
- Onlinecourses allow you to work on your own time, asynchronously. These may be a great option if you need flexibility in your day due to work, child care, elder care, or other responsibilities.
- Hybrid課程將遠程synchronou的組合s learning and online asynchronous learning. This may be the best choice if you want some weekly connection with your professor and classmates but also some flexibility.
